También hay salas dedicadas a relatar la actividad humana en el desierto. El museo abre sus puertas de martes a domingo en un horario de 10 de la mañana a 5 de la tarde. En enero de 2024 el costo de la entrada era de 225 pesos para adulto. Saltillo es la capital del Estado de Coahuila. Saltillo está a dos horas de la Ciudad de Monterrey, Capital del Estado de Nuevo León. En Saltillo hay varios museos que pueden visitarse: el Museo de la Batalla de la Angostura, el Museo del Normalismo, el Museo de la Revolución Mexicana, el Museo del Casino de Saltillo, el Museo del Sarape, el Museo de las Aves, el Museo de los presidentes Coahuilenses, etc. En Saltillo también hay tours para explorar lugares con fósiles de dinosaurios... En el Museo del Desierto tuvieron el cuidado de no poner rejas en los espacios donde viven los animales. Están en cautiverio, pero al menos no en jaulas o rejas.
