The Imperial Palace was the first Asian-themed resort on the Las Vegas Strip and became popular among middle-class and value-conscious guests. It featured long-running attractions like The Auto Collections, a car museum that operated from 1981 to 2017, and the show Legends in Concert, which ran from 1983 to 2009. After Engelstad’s death in 2002, the hotel was the second-largest privately owned hotel in the world. Harrah’s Entertainment, later known as Caesars Entertainment, purchased the Imperial Palace in 2005 for $370 million. The property underwent several renovations and name changes over the years. It was renamed The Quad in 2012 and finally became The LINQ in 2014 after a comprehensive renovation.
