En rueda de prensa, el Gobernador Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz adelantó que los delincuentes serán arraigados por un lapso de 30 días; sin embargo, este periodo podría reducirse o ampliarse conforme avancen las investigaciones. Detalló que los detenidos confesaron participar ya sea de una manera u otra en los hechos; sin embargo, la agresión que no iba dirigida a la población se les salió de control, tan es así que incluso ellos presentan lesiones provocadas por el fuego. Asimismo, en sus declaraciones comentaron que existen más involucrados, pues se estima que más de doce personas están relacionadas en este atentado que arrebató la vida de 52 personas inocentes. De tal manera, que la autoridad estatal en coordinación con la Procuraduría General de Justicia y la Policía Federal, seguirán en la búsqueda de los siete infractores restantes. Aunque se tiene bien identificados a los cabecillas de los "Zetas" que ordenaron el ataque, las autoridades federales descartaron más datos para no entorpecer las líneas de investigación.
