All seems lost until Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), racing from the casino, arrives just in time. She reconnects the final wire and shocks him back to life. Bond gasps, returning from the edge of death. Without hesitation, he adjusts his cufflinks, returns to the table—ice-cool and undeterred—and picks up his hand once more. In the climactic showdown, he faces off against Le Chiffre with a steely gaze. Despite the poisoning and near-death ordeal, Bond holds the winning hand: a straight flush.
