Elementos de bomberos, de la Agencia Estatal de Investigaciones y de Protección Civil de Monterrey y San Pedro arribaron al lugar en donde desalojaron a los clientes y acordonaron el lugar, mientras que paramédicos atendieron a los lesionados. Algunos de las personas que resultaron con quemaduras son: Lourdes Martínez Monsiváis, de 38 años, además Carla Ivete Villareal Mena, de 39 años y Yazmín Leticia Uresti Castillo, de 20. Las personas que se encontraban en ese momento en el casino, afirmaron que la puerta de emergencia estaba atrancada, por lo que vivieron momentos de angustia, hasta que elementos de Protección Civil los rescataron mediante retroexcavadoras, quienes tumbaron las paredes del lugar. Elementos ministeriales ya iniciaron con las investigaciones del nuevo ataque a un centro de apuestas, que esta vez dejó 45 fallecidos, además de entre 30 y 35 personas atrapadas. Ataque pudiera haber sido provocado con gasolina Una de las versiones que informó una fuente cercana a la investigación, dijo que no fueron lanzadas granadas, como se había especulado en un principio, sino que varios delincuentes llegaron a bordo de un vehículo, descendieron y se introdujeron al casino, en donde rociaron con gasolina todas las instalaciones y posteriormente prendieron fuego. Los guardias de seguridad no pudieron hacer nada al respecto, porque fueron amagados por el grupo de la delincuencia. Testigo de la tragedia narra los hechos Una mujer que se encontraba en el Casino Royale al momento de los hechos, refirió que los delincuentes sí lanzaron granadas, además de que realizaron detonaciones de arma de fuego. "Se oyeron ráfagas dentro de las instalaciones del Royale y se escuchó un grandazo... Lo que se nos vino a la mente fue correr hasta el estacionamiento que está subterráneo y sales a la calles pero nos guiaron hasta el segundo piso hacia una salida de emergencia, la cual estaba con llave, dijo. Cámara de seguridad no revela momento del ataque Una empresa que se encuentra enfrente del casino cuenta con cámara de seguridad, pero ésta no captó nada del suceso que ha dejado hasta el momento 51 muertos. Mientras que los empleados refirieron que no escucharon algún estruendo, sólo escucharon gritos que provenían del casino. En tanto que hasta las 18:15 horas, casi tres horas después del hecho, elementos de Protección Civil continuaban con el rescate de las personas.

It originally opened as the MGM Grand Hotel on December 4, 1973. The 26-story hotel contained 2,100 rooms, and was among the world's largest hotels. On November 21, 1980, the MGM Grand was the site of one of the worst high-rise fires in United States history, in which 85 people died. The MGM Grand was rebuilt at a cost of $50 million, and eventually reopened on July 29, 1981, with new fire safety features in place. Another 26-story tower opened later that year, adding more than 700 rooms. The resort has a total of 2,812 rooms, and the casino is 68,375 sq ft (6,352.2 m2). In 1986, Bally Manufacturing purchased the resort and renamed it Bally's. A sister property, Paris in Las Vegas, opened next to Bally's in 1999. An outdoor shopping mall, the Grand Bazaar Shops, was added to Bally's in 2015.
